In July last year, I put together a list of what I believe are (and aren’t)my responsibilities as a parent. Now that Christmas is well and truly behind us, and the new year is quickly turning into the old year, I thought it was time to revisit that list. Let me know what you think.

A sound list. Support works best when it develops the person toward a point where they no longer need support, and I have always preferred responsibilities to be in the form of goals rather than methods.
My only niggle is that the pale turquoise of “passion” lacks contrast on a white background.
Thanks, Dave. I feel the same way. Also, I’m somewhat pleased that your only niggle was one that was so easily rectified. See? All fixed.
Oh Jo that’s so so beautiful and appropriate and perfect. Until the boys are teens.
Just sayin’
Haha. I’ll revisit it in 10 years and see how it’s going.
I love this, Jo. At least everyone knows where they stand!
Pretty much. Also, I find it really disconcerting how many parents try to be their kids’ best friend.
That can cause BIG problems as they grow older…
That’s what I think. Seriously, what teenager is going to accept discipline from their “friend”? (From what I’ve seen, it’s hard enough with a 5 year old!)
Perfect. Probably the best parenting advice ever.
Thanks, B.
