Monday’s Top 5

Firstly, let me say a HUGE hello and welcome to everyone who found The Happy Logophile when one of my posts was chosen to be Freshly Pressed. It’s a great honour to have my story plucked from out of the sea of interesting and entertaining posts on WordPress. It’s also great to have so many people take the time to write positive comments, and to share their own stories. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

On to the Top 5 posts that I came across this week.

Emerald Barnes asked the question What do you expect from your writing? on Dreaming Awake. She shared her own thoughts and aspirations, and encouraged others to do the same.

There was a great article on the Other Side of the Story about writing the middle of your book. Guest author Elizabeth S. Craig talks about how to keep focus during the “saggy middle”, when you’re starting to run out of steam but haven’t yet reached the exciting climax.

Elena Solodow of You’re Write. Except When You’re Rong. has some great excuses for a writer to get out of all those boring real-life commitments.

I really enjoyed Tamara Paulin’s recent post on The 7 Stages of Receiving Critique, but was even more delighted to find and read her hilariously true Writing a Novel in 14 Pragmatic Steps.

Finally, please go and check out the most beautiful photography and story titled When the Top Dog Becomes the Old Dog on The Simple Life of a Country Man’s Wife.
