  1. This might be a stupid question, since you read some of his other books, but did you ever read the Thursday Next series Jasper Fforde wrote? Quite good. Maybe even a bit better than the Nursery Crimes series.

    • Yes! I love the Thursday Next series. I don’t think I’ve read all of them (I’ve read three), but it’s the series that first introduced me to Jasper Fforde and his unique sense of humour.

  2. This is wonderful! I have a reading list, too, but my progress is much slower, I’m afraid. Sixty-six books, and the year’s not even up yet…wow! Do you feel your writing has significantly improved this year, too?

    • Funny you should ask that question, Julie. The answer is a resounding YES. And I definitely credit my extra reading with helping improve my writing. Not only do I learn how and why stories appeal to me, I find myself reading with a different part of my brain working, and asking myself how I would have written the same thing differently — and then taking those thoughts and realisations into my own storytelling.

As for the number of books, it’s been quite a challenge. But I always keep a book with me, a book in the bathroom (it’s amazing how much reading you can do 5-10 minutes at a time), and an audiobook in the car.
